What Hoeden Offers

Hoeden at Home Homeschool Cooperative offers parent-led classes ranging from preschool to high school including both core subjects and elective courses.

This page is the GROWING list of Hoeden classes with a short description, suggested age range, and when each class is/was recorded LIVE on Facebook. There are new classes being added to Hoeden all the time! Each class name in this list is linked to its LIVE Facebook classroom and dates are followed by a link to its ARCHIVED classroom. If you are not yet a member, you can also check out our FREE CLASSES to help determine if Hoeden at Home is right for you. Everything on this page is included in the subscription unless a class description mentions a required curricular purchase to comply with the copyright permissions granted to Hoeden at Home.

Note: You only need to use Facebook if you wish to view classes LIVE. All class videos, links, printables, etc., are archived within 48 hours of live recording for members to watch anytime. Students have the opportunity to earn certificates for any class regardless of when it was recorded.

Playful Story Math (grades K-3): Read along with Ms. Brooke and her daughter, Beth, as they discover addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with the help of the Arithmetic Village books by Kimberly Moore. Kids make their own treasure chest of manipulatives to go along with the stories. They will also play games and create math art to practice concepts.

English

Grammar Galaxy (1st grade and up): Mrs. LaMonte teaches elementary grammar using Grammar Galaxy. You must purchase the curriculum to join this Hoeden group. The first book is Nebula.

Elementary Writing (1st grade and up): Ms. Amie teaches kids how to turn words into sentences, sentences into paragraphs, and paragraphs into essays. This class includes a printable workbook for students to practice what they learn.

Political Science

Elementary Political Science (ages 5-12): In this class, Mrs. Shelly reads the Tuttle Twins 9 book series and poses questions for students to discuss with their parents. Shelly encourages students to decide for themselves whether they agree or disagree with the book and why.
